COEX Head Spa Review: Premium Scalp Care at Ecojardin COEX Samseong with Designer Harin

A few months ago, I came here for a scalp treatment,
and this time I went back to Ecojardin COEX Samseong, a salon near COEX in Gangnam, Seoul, South Korea.

The results were so good, and honestly I haven’t found another place that does scalp care this well,
so I came back for their 18-step head spa
and did it all over again.

I’ve tried scalp spas at quite a few places over the years,
but Ecojardin COEX Samseong
was the first one where the steps and overall program felt truly complete.

From the initial scalp diagnosis to the final finish,
every product and every step
felt like it was designed by people who really understand
how to treat the scalp properly.

If you deal with redness, flakes, or hair that feels
weak and limp,
this is somewhere I’d absolutely recommend.

Especially if you’ve already tried scalp treatments at different salons
and always walked away feeling like something was missing, this place will hit differently.

Ecojardin COEX Samseong
is right on Teheran-ro in Gangnam,
so it’s an easy stop if you already have plans
around COEX.

I booked ahead through Naver,
and when I arrived at my scheduled time, they started right away,
so there was no waiting at all.

Since I did both the scalp treatment and a haircut,
the whole visit felt like it took about two hours.

18-Step COEX Head Spa

1) Microscopic scalp diagnosis
Before starting the 18-step scalp care head spa,
they first checked my scalp under a microscope and talked me through what they saw.

My scalp is usually dry and a little red,
and because regular shampoo hadn’t fully removed the sebum stuck around the follicles,
my pores were basically clogged.

When your scalp is dry, it often overproduces oil,
and once that buildup blocks the follicles, hair can shed more easily
and grow back thinner—it’s such a frustrating cycle.

That’s why I really think regular treatments
at a professional scalp care salon are worth it now.

2) Aroma oil cleansing

Next, they chose oils based on my scalp type—
lavender, cypress, cedarwood, rosemary, and more—
applied them first to soften everything up,
and used that step to loosen flakes and buildup.

3) Galvanic Sealing Brush
After that, they used a galvanic device with red and blue LED lights plus vibration
to help the oil absorb more effectively.

4) Mint scrub
Once the dead skin and buildup had softened,
they used a mint-based exfoliating step to clear everything away with a cool, refreshing feel.

Since it was sprayed on through a device,
it felt incredibly cooling and satisfying.

5) Cassia herb scalp pack
One of the signature parts of the COEX head spa at Ecojardin
is their Cassia herb scalp pack,
which uses anti-inflammatory and antibacterial ingredients to calm scalp heat
and soothe irritation.

6) Therapeutic steam mist
After applying the Cassia herb scalp pack,
they used steam to help it absorb better.

7) Wrapping
Next, they applied a Cassia herb serum to the back of my neck
and wrapped it with a warm towel so it could sink in.

8) Neck muscle relaxation suction
Then came circulation care for the neck and shoulders.
Releasing all that tight, blocked-up tension
helps prevent heat from rising to the scalp,
which is why neck and shoulder circulation is such an important part of scalp care.

9) Relaxing hot towel
Then I got a short break with a warm towel,

10) Hair nourishing shampoo
followed by a gentle, mildly acidic shampoo.
It contained biotin, panthenol, and stem cell culture extract,
and they worked it into a rich, bubbly lather.

11) Y-stick treatment
While the shampoo was still on,
they used a device to carefully remove leftover heavy metal residue from the hair
as a final cleansing step before rinsing.

12) Muscle shampoo
After that, I moved to a private room dedicated to the head spa,
where they massaged along the muscle lines while rinsing out the shampoo.
That was the next step.

13) Dohi Spa Bed relaxation
This lying-down head spa with lavender oil
helps wash away any remaining buildup and dead skin from the hair and scalp,
and with the sound of running water in the background,
it turns into a genuinely healing, restful moment.

Even the reclining chair was a massage chair,
so the whole time I was lying there felt unbelievably relaxing.

Out of the entire COEX head spa experience,
the time spent on the Dohi Spa Bed was honestly the most healing part.

In that quiet private room,
with the scent of lavender oil in the air,
I was so comfortable I almost fell asleep.

14) Acupressure scalp treatment
To finish, they used hands-on care to loosen my scalp and neck
and wrapped everything up.

15) Microscopic re-check
Right after the treatment, they compared my scalp before and after.

Once everything was done, they looked at my scalp under the microscope again,
and it was completely clean without flakes,
while the redness had visibly calmed down too.
Comparing the before-and-after images,
the difference was obvious right away.

My hair and scalp looked glossy and healthy.

16) Hair Growth Tonic

Before heat styling, they sprayed on a scalp ampoule tonic with minoxidil and stem cell ingredients
all over the scalp.

17) T-stick infusion
Then they used a finishing ion device to boost absorption of the tonic
and complete the treatment.

18) Final styling
After that, they finished with a blow-dry and styling.

Haircut with Designer Harin

I also asked Designer Harin for a haircut,
so right after the scalp spa, I went straight into the cut.
She asked about my face shape and even my usual styling habits,
really took time to think it through,

and I could tell she was paying attention to every little detail.
It never felt rushed or careless,
and that sincerity really came through.

That part honestly impressed me the most,
and if I come back again,
I’ll definitely book Designer Harin.

These days, I honestly think scalp care
matters even more than hair itself.

When your scalp is healthy, your hair gets healthier too,
and just like skincare for your face, your scalp also needs regular
maintenance and attention.

So yes, I’m planning to keep coming here consistently.

Who I recommend this for

Anyone dealing with scalp redness, flakes, or sensitivity
Anyone who’s felt underwhelmed by previous scalp treatments
(especially if you want products and care tailored step by step to your scalp type)
Anyone who wants both careful scalp care and pretty, polished hair styling in one visit
Anyone who wants to relax in a quiet, private space while getting treated

Final thoughts
The 18-step process starts with a microscopic diagnosis,
and because it’s customized, the satisfaction level was really high.

The healing time on the Dohi Spa Bed with lavender oil
made it feel like more than just scalp care—
it felt like a genuinely restorative head spa.

I also loved how many different products they used, all matched to my scalp type,
with ingredients that actually felt thoughtful and high quality.

If you want premium scalp care
plus styling that actually suits you,
I highly recommend Designer Harin.
