Easy access mattered to me when choosing a hair salon near Ichon Station in Yongsan,
and this one was just a short walk from Exit 1.
I spotted it right away, without having to wander around.
It’s right beside Yongsan Park, in the ground-floor retail space
at the Yongsan Park Tower apartment complex, so it was easy to find.
Being able to take public transportation and skip any parking worries
was another big plus.
When I arrived, Jinhue was the only stylist there,
and there were no other clients booked at the same time. It was wonderfully quiet,
which made getting my perm feel like a relaxing little break.
Jinhue first assessed my hair and noted that it was fine and damaged.
He started by applying a conditioning product
and giving my hair a treatment.
Next came the chemical softening step to prepare my hair for the perm,
followed by a very careful haircut.
He trimmed away the damaged sections and tailored the cut to my face shape and overall look,
choosing just the right bob length for a fresh, brighter feel.
As he cut, he kept checking the length and how much weight the hair carried,
refining it a little at a time.
Nothing about the haircut felt rushed.
After the cut, he rolled my hair onto perm rods
and began the layered heat perm.
Every step felt thoughtful and precise,
and I could tell how much attention he was giving it.
He clearly takes scalp and hair care seriously,
and his care in trying to avoid further damage made me feel I was in good hands.
My face is on the longer side,
and I’ve always been conscious of my midface—the area between my eyes and upper lip—looking long.
He added natural-looking curls that created volume at the sides,
which helped balance that out.
Afterward, my hair had volume but still felt light and fresh,
with a polished look that I absolutely loved.
When I got home, my husband said it looked like I’d been to an expensive salon,
and that the haircut suited me much better, too.
I’d left almost all the styling decisions to Jinhue,
but he got the look just right for me. That alone makes me want to go back.
It was pouring on the day of my appointment,
and listening to the rain with soft music playing in the background
made the whole treatment feel especially relaxing.
Both the time in the chair and the space itself left such a lovely impression.
