Last time, I went shopping for a cool-toned matte lip and picked up an Airy Mousse Velvet
along with a Glint Lip Glaze.
This time, I came back for more.
SITUEA Check the Mirror
had been hard to get hold of for a while,
so as soon as I saw it was back in stock,
I placed my order.
I paid for everything myself,
and since the offer said you’d get a free keyring when you bought two,
I added two to my cart. Well…

Product: SITUEA Check the Mirror 05 Urban Pink
Price: $17
Use: Lips and cheeks
Finish: Soft, blurred matte
Standout feature: Packaging with a built-in mini handheld mirror
Choosing a Cool-Toned Matte Lip Shade

My seasonal color palette is Deep Winter—the darker, deeper end of the cool-toned spectrum—
so I initially had my eye on 07 Chill Brick.
But Chill Brick was so muted
that it looked a little too dark against my complexion.

Being a Winter doesn’t automatically mean deeper shades
are always the best fit. I wanted something a little brighter
and easy to wear, with a cool undertone and a matte finish.
So I went with a shade intended for Summer coloring:
05 Urban Pink.

It’s described as a muted pink with a little extra life,
and that felt spot-on: a cool-based pink with just a touch
of softness that makes it easy to wear every day.
Even though it’s a Summer shade,
it worked on my Winter coloring
without looking out of place.
05 Urban Pink Swatches

With SITUEA Check the Mirror,
Urban Pink’s color payoff is less bold and punchy
and more of a soft, healthy-looking lift.
Rather than making my lips stand out on their own,
it gives my whole face a softer,
more polished look.
The texture feels especially luxurious.

When it comes to lip products,
I usually reach for brighter, more saturated shades,
but SITUEA’s lip colors definitely lean
softer, more muted, and understated overall.
One thin layer gives a sheer, muted pink.
Two or three layers build up
to a more defined pink, making it easy
to adjust the intensity to the rest of my makeup that day.
SITUEA Check the Mirror Texture
This is where it really won me over.
The cushiony, clay-like texture
glides on so smoothly,
without catching on dry flakes or settling into lip lines,
and hugs the lips beautifully.
Whenever I try a cool-toned matte lip,
I worry about it emphasizing dryness.
But with SITUEA Check the Mirror,
one swipe left my lips looking smooth and even.

It sits in a thin, weightless layer with a soft matte
finish, so it doesn’t have as much of that heavy,
coated feeling I sometimes get with matte lip products.
I bought it on the strength of the brand alone, but the feel
was so different from other products that it genuinely surprised me.
Seriously, it feels so good on.
Using Urban Pink as Blush
I also tapped a little onto my cheeks,
where it looked just as natural.
Urban Pink’s color
diffuses more softly on the cheeks,
so it never looked overdone.

Matching my lips and cheeks in the same shade
let me finish both with a single product,
which made my makeup bag noticeably lighter.
The case also has a mini handheld mirror attached,
so when I needed a touch-up while I was out,
I didn’t have to hunt down a separate mirror.
And the packaging is so pretty that taking it out
gives me a little mood boost every time.
The Disappointment: The Free Keyring Offer

I bought two because the promotion promised a free keyring,
but it didn’t arrive, so I contacted customer service
to ask about it.
They told me the keyring promotion had ended. Such a letdown.
It’s not a complaint about the product itself,
but the gift offer was the reason I bought two,
so I was honestly a little disappointed by that.
How Happy Am I With SITUEA?

I’m also still enjoying the SITUEA products
I bought last time: Airy Mousse Velvet and Glint Lip
Glaze.
Overall, with SITUEA’s lip products,
I like the brand itself,
but the textures are the real standout.
The packaging, shades, and feel—
everything is just so lovely. This matte lip purchase
was definitely a win for my cool-toned makeup collection.

Who I’d Recommend It To
Anyone looking for a matte lip product that doesn’t catch on dry flakes or settle into lines
Anyone who wants one product for both lips and cheeks

Final Verdict: Is Urban Pink Worth It?
For $17, you get a lip color, blush, and handheld mirror
all in one. I’m happy with this purchase:
a cool-toned matte lip I bought with my own money.

If you’re looking for an everyday pink with cool undertones,
