Wellkin Ilsan Jeongbalsan Station Review: Scalp Scaling Head Spa

My scalp has become more sensitive as I’ve gotten older, which is what got me looking into Ilsan scalp care.

Just a few hours after washing my hair, my scalp starts feeling congested,
and it gets so dry that it itches, too.

My scalp has always leaned dry,
but it gets oily by the afternoon—a dehydrated yet oily combination
that’s been bothering me more lately.

I’ve always been interested in scalp-care products,
and at home, I rotate between several shampoos and use scalp ampoules and tonics
pretty consistently.

Still, there are things that an at-home routine
just doesn’t seem to address.

I never used to think this much about my scalp,
but as I’ve gotten older, caring for it has started to feel just as essential as skincare.
So lately, scalp care has been high on my list!

Looking for somewhere nearby that I could visit after work,
I booked a treatment at Wellkin Scalp & Hair Loss Center’s Ilsan Jeongbalsan Station branch in Goyang, Gyeonggi-do, South Korea.

They told me their treatments use exclusive ingredients,
including ingredients certified for safety by food and drug authorities in South Korea and abroad.

Apparently, Wellkin has welcomed more than 400,000 clients to date!

Scalp Self-Assessment Before Your Visit

One thing I really liked was being able to use KakaoTalk, the Korean messaging app,
to complete a scalp self-assessment before my appointment.

You check off the symptoms you usually experience,
and it gives you a scalp-type result.

The categories include hair loss, oily or seborrheic scalp, and sensitive or dry scalp.
Once you arrive, they compare those results with your actual scalp condition
and recommend a treatment program.

My Ilsan Scalp Care Treatment, Step by Step

1) Applying a Scalp Scaling Mask
2) Softening Scalp Buildup With Ozone Steam

I’d worried that scalp scaling—the exfoliating, deep-cleansing part of the treatment—might be irritating,
but it didn’t sting at all.

It felt refreshingly cool and gentle!

The warm steam helps soften buildup on the scalp before cleansing.

3) Machine-Assisted Scaling With Pressurized Oxygen and Fine Water Jets (Complimentary)

The pressurized-oxygen scaling
felt wonderfully cooling and refreshing.

It seemed to tackle the buildup and sebum that shampoo alone hadn’t cleared away,
which really brought home the difference a professional scalp-care session can make.

4) Cleansing With Hyper Scalp Shampoo + LPP High-Protein Hair Treatment

The hands-on massage during the shampoo was incredibly soothing.
I’d arrived exhausted after work,
and this turned into exactly the relaxing break I needed.

5) Towel Therapy With Acupressure

They used their hands to release tension around my neck, shoulders, and upper chest,
and this was my favorite part.

It wasn’t just a series of machine treatments—the hands-on work
made a noticeable difference in how the whole session felt.

6) A Nourishing Scalp Ampoule for Soothing, Hydration, and Oil–Moisture Balance
7) Nourishing Hair Essence

They also used a device to apply the soothing, nourishing scalp essence,
which made it feel as though the product was absorbing more thoroughly.

8) LED Core Light for Scalp Sanitizing and Enhanced Absorption

They explained that the LED device helps improve product absorption
and is also used to sanitize the scalp.

Time to Lie Back and Relax

When the treatment was finished, my scalp felt fresh and comfortable.
It felt as though the devices had helped deliver the extra nourishment
I’d been missing with my at-home routine.

When I’d used scalp-scaling products at home before,
that fresh, clean feeling had lasted only for the day.
After this professional treatment, it lasted several days.

For me, a session every two weeks felt like it would be just right.

Who I’d Recommend This Head Spa For

Anyone who feels their at-home scalp-care routine isn’t enough
Anyone looking for hair-loss care
Anyone who wants treatments tailored to their scalp type
Anyone who’d also love some relief for tight neck and shoulder muscles

On the other hand, if you’re expecting a dramatic transformation after just one session,
you might come away a little disappointed.

Scalp care really does come down to consistency.

These days, I see it as more than just addressing hair loss.
Like skincare, it’s about finding care that suits your scalp type
and keeping up with it regularly.

The prices felt fairly approachable,
and there’s a first-visit discount, too.
If you’ve been exploring Ilsan scalp care,
I’d suggest trying a session and seeing how it feels for you.
